Learn From The Thief On The Cross

What is more important to you, enjoying life for a few years in this troubled world or living forever in an eternal paradise with the LORD?

Luke 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, (Jesus) saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

That thief had never attended church. Churches did not exist then. He may have been in the Jewish temple and he may have been baptized by John the Baptist but those things could not save him. He simply recognized that Jesus was the Lord and prayed a simple prayer to Him.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

If you would prefer to be forever in the paradise of God rather than the Lake of Fire and if you believe that you could pray the same prayer the thief prayed and Jesus would answer it, pray this simple prayer: LORD, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Save me right now. Thank you for dying in my place for my sin. Come into my heart and live there. Wash away my sin and give me eternal life. Make me the person you want me to be and help me to live my life the way you want me to live it.

When you know that He has given you eternal life, thank Him for it. Don’t know how to share the gospel? Afraid to share the gospel? Do you have enough courage to give someone a copy of this article. Anyone is welcome to copy and share this article with others without written permission.
